Dr. Marwan Alahmadi Zain Saudi Arabia, Chief Executive Officer Born in Saudi Arabia in 1960, Dr. Marwan Alahmadi is a nationally recognized ICT expert with a proven track record of significant contributions and achievements. Prior to becoming CEO of MTC KSA in April 2007 Dr. Alahmadi has had an extensive career in MTC where he served in a number of significant roles which have led to a number of success for MTC. One of Dr. Alahmadi’s prior roles at MTC is serving as the Business Strategy Officer for MTC Group from December 2004 to March 2007. As the MTC Group Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) Dr. Alahmadi was responsible for strategy, strategic business planning, the Innovation Lab, regulatory affairs and the Group Intelligence Unit. While acting as the CSO, Dr. Alahmadi was also serving as the Chief Operating Officer for MTC Vodafone Bahrain. As the Chief operating Officer, Dr. Alahmadi ushered MTC Vodafone Bahrain into operational success, meaning a positive financial performance, in its second year of operations, continuing to making MTC Vodafone Bahrain the third most successful GSM operation launch in the world. Dr. Alahmadi played a crucial role in MTC winning the third GSM license in Saudi Arabia by his role as the KSA Second GSM License Project Director. MTC Group competed against eleven other international and global mobile operators and was qualified based on the technical offer up to the last financial offer round. Before joining MTC Group, Dr. Alahmadi was the Country Manager for Cisco Systems Saudi Arabia for four years. During his time as country manager, Dr. Alahmadi increased Cisco sales by double digit. In recognition to his achievement, Dr. Alahmadi was selected by Cisco as the 2002 Country Manager of the Year over 95 countries which is an annual award given to the highest achiever in Cisco across the EEMEA region. Dr. Alahmadi’s experience extends beyond work with Cisco and MTC to include work with Abdul Lateef Jameel (ALJ) Group and its local partners. While at ALJ, he managed the construction of a country wide network to connect various regional centers and sales outlets to deliver triple play services such as e-mail, video/voice services, financial applications, sales applications etc. Along with his excellent leadership, management, communication and presentation skills, Dr. Alahmadi is an expert in telecommunications, its sales and successful development, and an expert in technical and operational fields of management. Dr. Alahmadi has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1990, after previously completing a Masters in Computer Science from the same institute and a BS in Systems Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia.
